Building a GeoCommunity – a busy day

On Wednesday I chaired a meeting of the AGI Conference team. We were all very bullish because registrations had passed 170 that morning. Today I got a mail that we had gone through 300 registrations just before the early bird discount closed. There are still places left at the conference but don’t leave it too long or you will have to book your own accomodation as we will have run out of rooms. The conference […]

Professional GIS vs NeoGeography

A thoughtful client recently asked us how he could explain the value of his organisation’s investment in Enterprise GIS to elected members and senior management who thought that everything could be done for nothing with Google. The purpose of the event was to raise the profile of the use of location or as analysts describe it “place” in the police service. the comments of senior police officers and IT managers […]

Thierry Henry, Brand Loyalty and Location Intelligence

People who know me will understand that I can turn any conversation around to football – well to Arsenal actually. Consequently I have taken a lot of stick from friends and colleagues who all seem to be Chelsea or Tottenham fans over Thierry Henry switching his loyalty to Barcelona despite pledging his eternal love for Arsenal and the fans as little as a year ago. Truth is I was gutted at this desertion and wished […]
